HCV Reinspections

REINSPECTIONS

Purpose of Re-inspection: The primary focus of this re-inspection is to verify that the previously noted deficiencies have been adequately addressed and rectified. Our inspectors will concentrate solely on the items that were marked as needing improvement during the initial inspection.

Preparation Requirements:

●  Access to Previously Identified Issues: Please ensure that all previously noted deficiencies have been corrected and that the areas in question are accessible for inspection.

●  Documentation: If applicable, have any receipts, repair documents, or certifications ready to demonstrate that the necessary repairs have been completed.

●  Electrical Outlet Testers: If electrical issues were part of the initial deficiencies, please have the appropriate testers available, whether 2 prong or 3 prong with GFCI testing capacity.

Inspection Process:

●  Our inspectors will initiate the RVI at the scheduled time and wait for 10 minutes for your participation.

●  If no one is available to conduct the inspection within this timeframe, the re-inspection will be marked as failed.

Important Notes:

●  Focus of Re-inspection: Inspectors will only assess the previously identified deficiencies to ensure they have been properly addressed.

●  Timelines for Addressing Deficiencies:

○  Life, Health, and Safety Deficiencies: Must be corrected within 24 hours, but in some cases, up to 7 days may be allotted.

○  Routine Maintenance Fails: Repairs must be completed within a 30-day period.

●  Inspection Results:

We will send either a Pass or a Fail letter once the re-inspection is complete.

○  If repairs are completed within the allotted time frame, both you and the participant will need to sign the Owner's Self Certification (OSC) and return the form to us within 30 days. It’s in your best interest to email the form to inspections@mobilehousing.org.

○  If we do not receive the OSC within 24 hours for Health and Safety fails, and 30 days for Routine Maintenance Fails, we will need to schedule another re-inspection to bring the unit back into passing status.

Consequences of Non-Compliance:

●  Abatement of Housing Assistance Payments (HAP)

●  Issuance of Move Vouchers

●  Potential Termination from the HCV Program
